Emily-Jane Thomas is a high soubrette and coloratura operatic soprano, trained at the world-renowned Guildhall School of Music and Drama under Yvonne Kenny. She specializes in the works of Mozart, Britten, Handel and Richard Strauss and in the genres of Early, Baroque, Classical and Contemporary music. She has worked for some of the most prolific companies throughout the UK, including Glyndebourne, Scottish Opera, Opera North and Music Theatre Wales, as well as internationally, including Italy, Germany and a principal role (Zerlina Don Giovanni) in the first ever opera produced in Bahrain.
Emily-Jane is also a highly experienced recitalist and concert singer and has worked with numerous reputed orchestras and conductors, including the BBC Symphony Orchestra under Steuart Bedford, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment under William Christie and Laurence Cummings and the Bahrain Symphony Orchestra under Orlando Jopling. She has also been the soprano soloist for Raymond Gubbay's 'Glorious Handel by Candlelight' with the Mozart Festival Orchestra and Crispian Steele-Perkins under Steven Devine.
Emily-Jane is excited to be returning to work following maternity leave. She currently lives in Cardiff with her husband Richard Immerglück (baritone) and baby Jack.
